Football Career: the complete wiki
Football Career simulates the life of a single footballer, from age 18 to 40. You don’t manage a team: you are the player. You create your character, choose where it all begins and make the decisions that shape a career: how to train, what to prioritize each season, which offers to accept and what to do in the moments that decide matches.
How to play
The leagues and clubs are the real ones (2025/26 season): more than 1,400 clubs from 82 leagues, with their cups and continental competitions, plus every national team in the world. Every career comes from a seed, so it can be replayed, and no two are alike: the same player can end up a club legend, a globetrotter or a promise that never came true.

Modes and options
- Normal
- 15 to 25 minutes per career: more key moments per season and more offers in the market.
- Quick
- 8 to 12 minutes: one or two moments per season and a market that only opens when it has to.
Rules
- Create the player in seven steps: identity (name, country, shirt number, stronger foot), physique (height and a weight that fits it), one of 27 positions on the pitch, a role with its duty (defend, support or attack), an archetype and two personality traits. Role and duty change your goals and assists, and the archetype decides which attributes grow fastest; the traits really change how things go (a cold-blooded player misses less in finals, a loyal one gets more offers from home).
- Choose an origin: big academy (better coaching, fewer minutes), small club (minutes from day one), a second- or third-tier club (start at the bottom and fight for promotion), or pick the club yourself from the real ones. You can also let the story pick itself.
- Each season, pick a priority (Development, Performance, Money, Club or National team) and a training focus, then tap “Simulate season”. The priority decides which moments you get and where you grow.
- After the summary come one to three key moments: match plays (shoot, pass or dribble; tackle, jockey or cover; rush out, stay or dive) and off-the-pitch decisions. Every option is resolved by your attributes, style, form, fatigue, confidence, the context and your traits.
- Your role at the club (bench, rotation, starter or star) depends on your level against the squad and the coach’s trust. More minutes, more goals, more reputation.
- When your contract runs out or you play very well, the market opens: two to four offers you can accept, turn down or negotiate through your agent. Sometimes your club offers a renewal.
- The national team starts with the U20s and, at a good level, comes the call-up, a starting place, the captaincy and tournaments: the continental nations cup and the World Cup every four years.
- From 33 you can announce your retirement. At 40 the career ends no matter what. At the end you see your Legacy Score (0 to 100), your legacy type and a summary to share.
Strategy
Legacy measures the whole career: titles (big ones weigh more), individual awards, goals and appearances, peak level, national team, loyalty to a club, decisive moments and longevity. There’s no single path: a one-club player can have as much legacy as a star who won everything in five countries.
Finals and big matches count double. Arriving with high confidence and low fatigue, and picking the option that suits your style, is what turns a good player into a hero.
Every career is born from a seed. With the same seed and the same decisions, the career plays out the same; with different decisions, the story changes.
Tips
- At 18 and 19, the Development priority pays off more than any other: that’s when you grow the most.
- If you’re on the bench, finding minutes at a smaller club is usually worth more than waiting at a big one.
- Watch your fatigue: training hard on a tired body raises the risk of injury.
- An agent you get on well with lands better contracts; an aggressive one wins more but sometimes the club walks away.
- Promises count: if you promise the fans you’ll stay and then leave, the club remembers.
- After 31 your physique declines. Training Mentality and choosing the right club stretch the career.
Common mistakes
- Staying on the bench at a big club at 20: without minutes there’s no growth and no reputation; a smaller club with a starting role usually pays off more.
- Training hard with high fatigue: it raises the risk of injury, and a serious injury takes out half a season.
- Choosing Money as your priority in the growth years: big contracts come on their own once your level rises.
- Always picking the same option in key moments: what works depends on your style, your attributes and the situation.

FAQ
- Is it a manager game?
- No: you control a single footballer, from 18 to 40. You decide their training, priorities, contracts and key plays, not the team’s.
- Are the clubs real?
- Yes: the leagues and clubs are the real ones from the 2025/26 season (more than 1,400 clubs from 82 leagues in every confederation, with promotion and relegation), and the national teams are every one in the world, England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland included. Official crests are trademarks, so each club is shown with a badge drawn in its colours with its initials.
- Is my career saved if I close the page?
- Yes: it’s saved in this browser after every step and waits for you when you come back. Nothing is sent to a server.
- How long does a career take?
- 15 to 25 minutes at normal pace and 8 to 12 at quick pace. You can stop halfway and carry on another day.
- Can I win the World Cup?
- Yes, but it’s hard: it depends on your country, your level, getting called up and what you do in the decisive moments. Most careers never win it.
- What is the Legacy Score?
- A number from 0 to 100 that sums up the career: titles, awards, goals, level, national team, loyalty, decisive moments and longevity. Over 88 is legend level.
