09 Arcade Astrobreak: the complete wiki
Astrobreak is an original Vexply space arcade game: you fly a ship with real inertia and break asteroids that split into smaller and smaller pieces. It’s free in your browser, and every wave comes faster and fuller.

Rules
- Large asteroids split into medium ones, and medium ones into small ones.
- Smaller is worth more: 30 points for a large, 60 for a medium and 120 for a small one.
- From wave 4, comets appear and head for your ship (250 points).
- You have 3 lives, an extra one every 10,000 points and a short shield when you respawn.
- Consecutive hits raise a multiplier (up to ×2); a missed shot resets it.
- Your ship and the asteroids wrap around: leave one edge, come back from the other.
Strategy
The safest spot is near the center, turning in place and thrusting only to dodge. From there you have time to see pieces coming from every side. Since small asteroids are worth four times as much as large ones and the multiplier rewards accuracy, the best scores come from splitting large asteroids one at a time and finishing every piece with clean shots.
Tips
- Use little thrust: with inertia, stopping takes time and it’s easy to overshoot.
- Breaking a large asteroid leaves three problems; clear the pieces before opening another large one.
- Protect the multiplier: spraying shots breaks the streak.
- When a comet shows up, moving beats aiming: it comes straight for you.
Common mistakes
- Thrusting too much: with inertia, stopping takes time and it’s easy to crash.
- Breaking several big asteroids at once: each one splits into pieces and the space fills with trouble.
- Shooting at random: a missed shot resets your score multiplier.
- Aiming at a comet instead of dodging it: it comes straight at your ship.
